(This music, the precursor to Drum & Bass and
Jungle, exploded in the UK starting around
1989/1990, reaching its creative peak around
92/93. After that time the sound evolved into
Drum & Bass and its many sub-genres. Because
of this evolution, the Early Breakbeat/Hardcore
sound from 1988-1993 remains as an audio
time-capsule of the underground rave sound that
created a movement in the U.K. and then the U.S.
The tracks on this mix showcase the sound,
especially the 1992-1993 time period)
